There are many local food stalls every week.  Head along there some Saturday to soak up the atmosphere for yourself!

The Fishman

The Fishman offers Wicklow town fresh fish of all descriptions and sound advice on how to cook it.

What better location for a fishmonger than a busy fishing port? Wicklow town’s quays may not be as bustling as they once were, but The Fishman aims to re-educate locals and tourists alike about the town’s angling heritage.

Everything from trout, to crab, to squid is stocked in the attractive shop. Alan Hegarty is the Fishman in question and he’s on hand to answer all of your queries about how to bake, fry, and barbecue your favourites.

Regularly in stock are the following species: Salmon, Sole, Trout, Skate, Bass, Haddock, Tuna, Plaice, Clams, Crab, Lobster, Mussels, Scallops, and Shrimp.

Home delivery and catering available.

Farrelly’s of Delgany

Farrelly’s butchers offer truly homegrown, locally slaughtered meat as well as game, prepared meals, and condiments.

Delgany is lucky to have a real butcher in Farrelly’s. The business is unique locally, in that they operate their own abattoir, slaughtering their own cattle and sheep. This knowledge of husbandry and respect for the animal is noticeable in the shop itself, with staff generally highly informed about different cuts of meat and their use.

Dog lovers, take note: Farrelly’s butchers give away lovely bones for your canine friends.

The Delgany Grocer

Four outstanding food businesses come together under one roof to offer Delgany a proper ‘food hall’ experience.

The Delgany Grocer is more than a shop: The Firehouse Bakery and Coffee House bakes and sells fresh bread; Farrelly’s Butchers supply the meat; Romany Stone offers a 120 seat cafe upstairs; the grocery itself supplies fresh vegetables, dairy products, dry goods, and fish.

There is a focus on locally-sourced produce running through all of the different sections. Perhaps more importantly, prices are surprisingly reasonable for a shop of this type. Meanwhile, the levels of service and quality is outstanding.

Wicklow Wine Company

The Wicklow Wine Company stocks a wide range of great wines as well as local foods and fresh coffee.

Prepare to be surprised! Even seasoned wine buffs will notice some interesting origins and less famous grape varieties on show at the long established Wicklow Wine Company in Wicklow Town.

Besides the expected Old and New World wines, several excellent German and Portuguese varieties are available for sampling at the shop’s regular tasting sessions.

Even better, service here is personal and friendly. The knowledgeable staff give informed recommendations for food accompaniments.

Wicklow Wine Co. does more than wine, however. The shop stocks excellent Irish cheeses, including some Wicklow cheeses, as well as other foods which compliment wine drinking.

Whole coffee beans are also on sale in bulk, making Wicklow Wine Co. one of the best value sources for those of us coffee fans that prefer to grind their own.
